Francisco Cruz
As the son of a US Army soldier, Francisco A. Cruz moved often. After a twenty-year career, his father retired and the family settled in Kissimmee, FL. Finally having a hometown, Francisco attended Osceola High School where he was a varsity athlete as a wrestler and swimmer. He was also the chair for the local youth advocacy group, Osceola Teen Alliance. During his time at Osceola High, Francisco was enrolled in the Academy of Finance and graduated with a Bright Futures Scholarship.
Not wanting to go far from his new hometown, Francisco was accepted and attended the University of Central Florida, where he joined and became chapter president of Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity Inc. Francisco graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Finance and entered the workforce in the field of banking, where he quickly noticed that he truly enjoyed helping others find solutions to their most complex issues. It did not take long for Francisco to realize that his talents and passion for helping others were leading him to a career in the law. He understood that by becoming a lawyer he would be able to help his neighbors through some of their most difficult times.
Francisco was accepted to attend Law School at Barry University. While attending Barry, Francisco was a Certified Legal Intern with the State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit handling several criminal cases all the way to trial. Francisco was also an active volunteer at the Judge Advocate General’s Office at Patrick Air Force Base assisting Veterans and their families with legal issues and questions.
After graduating with his Juris Doctor and passing the Florida Bar exam, Francisco accepted a position as an assistant state attorney with the State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Osceola County. As a prosecutor, Francisco litigated hundreds of cases. During his time as a prosecutor, he gained valuable experience at hearings, motions, and trial. Wanting to have more direct communication and impact on those he could help, Francisco took the skills he had gained as a prosecutor and began private practice in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury.
Now, Francisco lives in Oviedo, FL with his wife and focuses his practice of law on cases where his clients have been injured due to the negligence of others. Throughout the years he has been able to represent clients in many jurisdictions throughout Florida. Francisco has gained the respect of many attorneys and judges throughout the state as a professional and skilled litigator. He has been a member of the Florida Bar in good standing since 2014 and is a member of The Florida Justice Association. However, Francisco has never lost focus of his primary reason to become a lawyer, helping his neighbors through some of their most difficult times.
