Tampa Personal Injury Lawyers

Two damaged cars in a collision on a busy road with several other vehicles in the background.

Driving in Tampa means dealing with constant traffic pressure. You’ve got congestion on I-275, backups on I-4, and heavy local traffic on roads like Dale Mabry Highway and Hillsborough Avenue. Add in commuters, tourists, and commercial vehicles, and accidents become part of daily life.

We regularly see:

  • High-speed crashes on I-275 and I-4
  • Stop-and-go rear-end collisions on Dale Mabry
  • Intersection accidents along Hillsborough Avenue
  • Congestion-related crashes near the Howard Frankland Bridge

And then there’s the airport and downtown traffic. Around Tampa International Airport and Channelside, rideshare vehicles and out-of-town drivers create additional risk.

We’ve handled thousands of car accident cases across Tampa and know how these claims move through the local system—and how insurance companies try to limit payouts.

Call law enforcement and make sure a report is filed, particularly on major roads like Dale Mabry or Hillsborough Avenue.

Document Everything

Take photos, gather witness information, and keep records of all expenses and injuries.

Avoid Insurance Mistakes

Insurance companies often try to settle quickly, and for less than your case is worth. Before speaking with them, contact a car accident lawyer in Tampa. We’ll handle that conversation for you.

Call a Lawyer Early

The earlier you involve an auto accident lawyer, the stronger your case will be.

Types of Car Accident Cases We Handle

Tampa’s roadways create a wide range of accident scenarios.

We regularly handle:

  • Rear-end collisions in heavy traffic
  • T-bone accidents at major intersections
  • Highway crashes on I-275 and I-4
  • Drunk driving accidents
  • Distracted driving crashes
  • Rideshare accidents near downtown and the airport
  • Multi-vehicle pileups

Each case is built based on the specific facts and evidence involved.

Crashes involving buses raise unique government-claim and common-carrier issues, and our Tampa bus accident lawyers handle transit, school, and charter bus cases.

When the at-fault driver flees the scene, your own uninsured motorist coverage often becomes the path to recovery, and our Tampa hit and run accident lawyers can pursue that claim.

What Compensation Can You Recover

After a crash, the financial impact builds quickly.

A car accident lawyer in Tampa helps you recover compensation for:

  • Medical expenses
  • Lost wages
  • Pain and suffering
  • Ongoing treatment and rehabilitation
  • Property damage

If the at-fault driver has little or no insurance, an uninsured motorist claim may provide another way to pursue compensation through your own applicable insurance coverage.

We also handle medical liens and outstanding bills, working to reduce what you owe so your final recovery reflects what you actually take home, not just the total settlement.

How We Handle Your Car Accident Case

We take a proactive, structured approach to every case.

Florida Car Accident Laws You Should Know

Florida follows a no-fault insurance system (PIP), which covers initial medical expenses.

However, serious injuries often exceed PIP limits.

Florida law gives you two years from the date of your accident to file a personal injury claim. Missing this deadline can prevent you from recovering compensation.

Florida also follows a modified comparative fault rule. If you are more than 50% at fault, you may not recover damages. If you are less than 50% at fault, your compensation may be reduced.

In today’s Legal Minute, attorney Keith Ligori with the law firm of Ligori & Ligori tells what to do after a crash that will be of benefit when the smoke clears. Thanks, Michelle. First, I would call 9-1-1 to make sure you report the crash to the police.

Make sure you exchange information, your driver’s license, insurance information with the other party that was involved in the crash. Take pictures and video using your cell phone. Make sure to call your insurance company and report the claim.

If injured, seek medical treatment either by going to the hospital or your medical doctor. If you’re getting run around by the insurance company, hire a good lawyer that specializes in personal injury and understands injuries, your specific injuries. Hire a lawyer that has tried cases and can fund the case.

I was injured in an accident. I was in a three-car accident that I sustained back injuries which it was it’s actually life-changing because prior to that you know I was pretty healthy I would say but it was pretty you know it changed my life it changed my life. On that day I was actually on my way to lunch to meet with some friends and I attempted to take a different route that day and I was was in a coming through the intersection at the light at a complete stop just sitting there and the next thing I know I was rear-ended from the back and it was actually a three-car accident so the one car hit me in the middle that hit me pretty hard and there was a car behind that one that rear-ended that car.

I actually sustained lower back injury. I dealt with a lot of pain in my legs, my arm, my shoulder, mostly on my right side of my body where I felt a lot of the pain once a couple days after the accident where it really kind of set in. It’s very stressful.

I’ve I’ve been dealing with and I have dealt with a lot of anxiety especially once I started back driving I mean a lot of anxiety because now once I you know I’m in traffic I’m always you know thinking is that gonna happen again is someone gonna rear-end me again so it’s it’s it makes me nervous. The stress was really bad. I actually heard about Ligori and Ligori from my friend Crystal.

She was actually a client and she actually that’s the first thing she said I’m gonna give you Keith Liguori number and I want you to call him on Monday. My overall experience with Keith Ligori was amazing. If I had to refer anyone to an attorney it would be Keith Ligori.
