Meet Attorney Luis Figueroa
Luis Figueroa was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and brought that grit with him to Tampa, where he began his legal career and has lived ever since. He started out as an Assistant City Attorney, serving as a legal adviser to the Tampa Police Department, and went on to become the lead trial attorney for several major insurance companies.
Those years on the defense side gave Luis a clear understanding of how insurance companies evaluate, defend, and try to minimize injury claims. In 2002, he put that knowledge to work for the other side, and he has represented only people injured by the negligence of others ever since.
Over more than four decades, Luis has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout Florida and has argued cases that produced reported decisions from Florida's appellate courts and the Florida Supreme Court. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar, a distinction held by a small percentage of Florida lawyers. He is fully bilingual in Spanish, so he can work directly with Spanish-speaking clients and their families, with no interpreter standing between them and their attorney. Outside the courtroom, Luis is active in Tampa's legal, civic, and faith communities and in some of the city's longest-standing traditions.
